Hope: The Anchor of God's Promises

1 - "Hope: The Anchor of God's Promises"

Hope is something all of us need, especially during the storms of life.
God's promises are the anchor that gives us hope. Other than the Bible, my main resource for this series is Max Lucado's book Unshakable Promises.

2 - "Death is Not the End, I Promise!"

One of God's promises that brings us hope is that death is not the end of life, but is just the beginning of something far better for the believer in Jesus. Jesus' resurrection is that proof that life does not end with death.

3 - "You Are Somebody Important, I Promise!"

An important anchor for our souls is God's promise that we are somebody important to Him. Every person has supreme value to God because we are made in God's image.

4 - "You Have An Inheritance, I Promise!"

If you are a child of God, then you have a priceless and limitless inheritance. As children of God we are heirs of God and coheirs with Christ. We are trust-fund kids! Let's live like it!

5 - "You Can Defeat Your Enemy, I Promise!"

God has promised us that we can win the spiritual war against our enemy. We can win because God is greater and more powerful, and because Satan is a defeated foe.

6 - "You Have a Savior Who Understands You and Can Help You, I Promise!"

Because Jesus became human and lived among us, He can understand us. And because Jesus was fully divine, He has the power to help us. When we approach God looking for help, we can know that He understands us and will patiently help us.

7 - "You Have a Savior Who is Praying for You, I Promise!"

One of the reasons we can win the spiritual battle and get through the storms of life, is the fact that we have a Savior in heaven who is praying for us.

8 - "You Have a Helper Who Empowers You, I Promise!"

After Jesus returned to heaven to the Father's right side, He sent the Holy Spirit to be with us and live in us to empower, transform, guide, and comfort us.

9 - "Your Prayers Have Power, I Promise!"

One of God's promises that gives us great hope is that our prayers have power. Our God promises to hear and answer our prayers.

10 - "Justice Will Prevail, I Promise!"

Life can be hard and unfair. We cry out for justice and wait for it. We may never experience justice in this world, but God promises us that He is a just God and that justice will prevail in the next world.

11 - "Joy is Coming Soon, I Promise!"

God doesn't promise a sorrow-free life, but God does promise that joy will come. Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.

12 - "The Humble Will Receive Grace, I Promise!"

God hates pride, but loves humility. God's promise is that if we humble ourselves before God, He will give us His grace. This truth is clearly displayed in the story of Nebuchadnezzar, and in the story of the Pharisee and the tax collector.

13 - "There is No Condemnation for Those Who are IN CHRIST,
I Promise!"

The promise of God that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus is based on the fact that we are saved by grace through faith, because of the righteousness of Christ is credited to us when we believe and are baptized.

14 - "Standing on the Promises of God"

Our faith in the promises of God are the anchor that holds us secure no matter what storm we are facing. The lifeline of God's promises anchors us to the very throne of God. Our job is to trust and hold on!
